Twenty-six middle-school students from foster homes, group homes, and adoptive homes took part in this year’s Royal Connection retreat...

It was held the last weekend in October. Our 2007 focus was on how God shapes our lives, just as the potter shapes clay and artisans turn shattered glass into stained-glass windows. The kids had a blast, enjoying everything from campfires, movies, art, swimming, football, backwards kickball, woodworking, music, hiking, archery, fishing, great food, and more. Thanks to all our volunteers for making our fifth annual retreat our best yet. The only sad part was seeing tears in some of the kids’ eyes as they left the retreat, yet we knew it was because their lives had been touched in a significant way.
